I guess the first question I have is how many days do you have to make the trip? With the water at the current levels it could be done pretty quickly (which is unusual for the winter months). October/November is historically a good time to make this trip. You will need to plan your days around the available camping spots. The following map should give you an idea of what you will need to know to plan you trip. http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/guide/designated_paddle/peace_guide.pdf
After you have reviewed this I can answer any questions you may have. There are 2 good outfitters on Peace River. One in Wauchula and the other in Arcadia. http://www.peaceriveradventures.com/

Look the map over and let me know if you have any questions. You will enjoy this trip!

I have those maps but there isn't any information after reaching Arcadia. I am hoping I wont need any stops for outfitters but would like to see a map where most of the camp sites are located. No luck finding any maps yet. I'm hoping the water levels will be good In Oct-Nov. El Nino will decide I guess. Bug screen is on the list.

Hey Yakindude,
I did the Peace River from Ft. Meade to Charlotte Harbor in March a few years ago. I did it in 5 days / 4 nights. The water levels were too low in March to start in Bartow. The first night I camped just north of Main Street Wauchula, the second night down near Gardner, the third night just south of Arcadia and the last night on Cow Island south of the Nav-A-Gator bar and grill. There are numerous places to camp south of Arcadia. October or November should have plenty of water in the river. Have a great trip and keep us posted. Peace River Paddle Sports out!
