Hey there, We are planning a trip to CSSP next week, and looking to paddle Halfway Creek, Blackwater River, and Turner Creek. Any current info, or advise? Any crocs down there? I'd really like to see one. This will be in day trips, only. Thanks, T

I can't help you, but the FPTA Regional Director for that area should answer you in a day or so. If not, I'll get you some answers.

Hi Tom, Out of the 3 I have only done Turner River. We always did it as a one-way paddle to make it a nicer/longer trip. If you have more than one car, you might want to take the time to set it up. Park the car along the causeway on the way to Chokoloskee, kind of across from the ranger station. Then go back to the put-in. It takes about 4 hours. Monica

Paul D. Westberry December 5 at 8:35am Report It's a fun paddle...there is a loop of about 14 miles with small creek to open bay variety. One of my favorite loops. There is an issue of tide for getting across a bay and some local knowledge guidance is needed unless at high tide.

Trip report... Paddled Turner River and Halfway Creek loop. Lovely. Highly recommended. Check with the folks at Big Cypress welcome center for great local information. Saw much wildlife, crocs are not found in this area. One has to look further southeast. T
